Steps to Apply for an EACC Clearance Certificate
The following steps are a guideline for the process followed when applying for an EACC clearance certificate.
Step 1: Obtain the Self-Declaration Form
The first step involves downloading the self-declaration form, commonly referred to as the Integrity Clearance Form. This form is available on the EACC official website via www.eacc.go.ke. Or can be collected from the EACC headquarters at Integrity Centre, Nairobi, and other regional offices. The form is free of charge and must be filled out in duplicate.
On the website, you scroll downwards to the downloads section, look for a tab written ‘Self Declaration Form’. Click on it to download.

Step 2: Go through the Application Clearance Instructions
The instruction concerning the Application are clearly highlighted go through them carefully before proceeding.

When done, click on the part written’ Click here to apply Online’ to continue.
Step 3: Start the Application Process
On the page that appears, scroll downwards and you will find a list of services offered. You will find a guideline highlighting the steps to follow in order to apply for a Self-Declaration Form online, using the Adili Platform.

If you don’t have an account click on the tab written ‘Create a new account‘, and if you have an account just sign in.

Step 4: Agree to the Terms and conditions for creating the Adili Account
In our case we don’t have an account so to create one we have to agree to the terms and conditions.

Step 5: Validate Your Details
You are supposed to fill in your National ID number and your KRA PIN. When done click on ‘Validate details’.

Step 6: Register Account
Once you have validated your details, you are now supposed to add additional personal details which are; your phone number, email address and password.

Once the account is registered you will receive an activation code via SMS.

Back to the home page, sign in to your account and proceed.
Step 7: Verify your Email Address
You have to verify your email address by clicking the link.

After submitting your information, an activation email will be sent to your email address, and a code will be sent via SMS to your phone. Follow the instructions in the email and enter the SMS code to activate your account.
Step 8: Fill in Your Personal Information
This includes your title (Mr/Mrs.), gender, marital status and occupation.

Step 9: Fill in Your Contact Information
This is your postal address, postal code, residential address and email address.

Proceed to the next section.
Step 10: Fill in Your Birth Information
This includes your date of birth, country, county, sub-county and place of birth.

Step 11: Fill in Your Residence Information
You fill in your county, sub-county, town and estate of residence.

Proceed to the next section.
Step 12: Fill in About Your Family Information
Here you give information about your children if there are any.

Step 13: Provide your Education Information
Here you are going to add any documents about your academic qualifications, Languages spoken and any membership of professional organization.

When done continue to the next section.
Step 14: Provide Your Employment Information

You now complete your application and proceed to making your profile.
Step 15: Upload Identification
You can upload your passport, or your National Id together with your KRA certificate.

Step16: Reason for Declaration
It can be because of employment, election or any other.

Step 17: Fill in the Mandatory Questions


Step 18: Confirm Your Details
Here you get to confirm that your details are correct and then save your declaration.

Step 19: Download Form
You go through the instructions provided then you download your document.

When done click on ‘Finish’.
NB: Before submitting your self-declaration form, you must have it signed and stamped by a Commissioner for Oaths or a Magistrate. This step is crucial as it validates the authenticity of your declaration.

Important Notes on EACC Clearance Certificate Application
- The EACC does not issue physical clearance certificates. Instead, they provide a confidential report directly to the employing agency or panel regarding all shortlisted applicants.
- Providing false information on the Self-Declaration form is a serious offence which can lead to imprisonment.
- Applicant to fill in self-declaration form in duplicate(two copies) and attach a copy of identity card or passport.
- Completed form to be signed by the applicant and the signature witnessed by a Commissioner of Oaths or Magistrate.
- Upon submission of the completed form, the details are verified and acknowledgement of the application is done by stamping on the copy of the application which is retained by the applicant.
- Completed form can be submitted in person or may be dropped on behalf of the applicant at the EACC Head Office at Integrity Centre, Nairobi or at any EACC Regional Office in Nyeri, Eldoret, Mombasa, Garissa, and Kisumu. Please do not submit the form online.
- The forms can be downloaded from the Commission’s website; www.eacc.go.ke or can be picked from the Commission’s Head Office and Regional Offices.
NB: It is an offence under S.46(1) (d) of the Leadership and Integrity Act,2012 to provide false information to the Commission which is punishable by a fine of Kshs.5 million or imprisonment for a term of 5 years or both.
